BVO is non-political, non- governmental and non -profit-making development action oriented organization founded in 1996 by a committed gender balanced group in Somaliland. Environment conservation is one of the major key areas focused by the organization and initiated several projects on the subject of sustainable use of the natural resource and save guarding of the environment through extensive awareness raising and remedial ground actions. For the last decade BVO has endeavored to create an environment for all Somaliland women to excel at the various levels and has made significant contributions in the struggle and advocacy towards the women’s empowerment especially women political participation. BVO strives to abide to the following values: Mutual respect, Equity and justice, Honesty and transparency, Independence & Reliable.

Environmental conservation focus (ECOFOCUS) is a non-governmental and nonprofit making organization that seeks to make a significant contribution to the improving the quality of life of all citizens, particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged groups (Pastoralist, agro-pastoralist, women) through the sustainable use, protection and improvement of the environment, with ultimate aim of combating the climate change, poverty mitigation, conflict prevention and sustainable development. The organization was founded by group professionals in 2001 and has elaborated policy, which guides the management programs of the institutions.
